Introduction
new to the D. grad student who isnt afraid of manual labor on the side. all of my colleagues have these petite unscarred piano hands and i think it limits their perspective. 30 something fellow. Maybe a late bloomer? I have tried on a ton of careers and had a few life tangents (no pri and very little drug use) that has left me with a rather odd resume but its been grand. Fancy myself a philosopher but at the same time crave to be engaged in the "real" world. That has meant stints as a wildland firefighter, forestry laborer, home builder and farming. Wow, aren't I cool. This is all shit. I am writing a god damn brand narrative on the side of a Kombucha bottle. yuck. No offense to Kombucha. I am leaving the safe and comfy confines of artsy fartsy progressive Oregon countryside for Detroit. Should be interesting. Grad student at Wayne. Loving this notion of exploring Detroit. After many years in the laid back small town west it sounds like a blast. At the moment I sit on a sailboat a lot. I also sit on the beach ostensibly to "study." Apparently I like running now. Thats strange. I tend to grow stuff that I can eat but I don't like to do a lot of weeding or picking bugs off of shit. This poses a problem.

My Ideal Person You want to check out the town with me! Looking forward to finding some partners in crime to peak under the hood of the motor city. pardon the pun but i cant help it. My family wasn't very bright.
